Torneo de Surf

Last week Brett asked me to help with an upcoming surf tournament in Palo Seco for the benefit of the life guard program.  Of course I said yes.

Palo Seco is a beach town down the coast from where I live - about 30 minutes.

Saturday, the 7th, number of us showed up to help - Dennis Leon of Pura Vida Church who is very involved with the community and youth of Esterillos.  He actually brought a number of the young surfers.  Kristi Atkinson, Desirea, Adrianna, Jaya, Barbara and Judy who has now been in CR for 2 weeks - all joined in to help.  A good solid group willing to do whatever needed to be done.

I have helped with a number of these tournament and each and everyone has been a long day... but above and beyond rewarding for my small contribution of time.

The photos pretty much cover it.  The waves were a challenge for this young group of sufers.  Huge...closed out fast.  Fortunately, no one was hurt....at least not seriously.
