Pat Chidester: I lived in California for 30 years. In June of 2006 I quit my job and took an early retirement from working as a courtroom clerk for a felony trial judge in Santa Maria Ca. I planned to move to Colorado - why - I can't remember..but, before I made that move I decided to go to a beach and just do nothing. I knew nothing about Costa Rica until a week before I booked my flight. I came by myself, I knew no one when I arrived. I stayed for 3 months in Esterillos Oeste. After 3 months here I could not leave it. I went home for Christmas that year, had a tattoo of a scarlet macaw carved into my thigh and returned the end of January 2007. I have been here ever since. Every single day something magical happens to me. That is what this blog is about.......
