Hermosa

Hermosa means beautiful and Hermosa Beach is between EO and Jaco - about 12 minutes up the highway.  Often, on Saturday afternoons, about 4ish, there is a torneo de surf.  It's not a regular tournament where there are "heats" instead it is a big free for all where the surfers accumulate points to win.  Anyone can enter.  It is held in front of and sponsored by the Backyard Bar and Restaurant.  Often there is live music after the contest finishes which is usually at dusk.  Last weekend I went with Les, Ozzie, Cam, Hugo and young Anthony who is one of EO's up and coming surf champions.  T-Bone and Jeanine joined us there.  One of the best things is...there are several surfers who regularly come to this competition who are on our national surf team.  Gilbert Brown with his wild rasta hair, handsome Cali - one of EO's very own, Jason Torres, The surf photos are not that great, but you get the idea.  Fun times for sure!
